Prerequisites – LAD2
Introduction
Information about agents, features, and plugins that can be enabled for use in the LAD2 environment. Only the agent activation is mandatory to retrieve computer information in the CIQ ITAM and CIQ DEX portal; all other components are optional. See the documentation below:
Agents (Mandatory)
The “Desktop Agent” and “Server Agent” are responsible for collecting information from the computers and sending it to the Almaden cloud. If the necessary permissions are not granted, the computer data will not be sent to our cloud, and consequently, no data will be displayed on the CIQ ITAM or CIQ DEX portal.
Release Type: Mandatory
Note: The data can be sent either by the computers with agents themselves or exclusively through the Central Relay (the Central Relay will send all data from the agents that are directed to it).
Addresses and Ports
Windows and Linux
Address: lad2-receiver.almaden.app
Port: 443
MacOS
Address: lad2-receiver.almaden.app
Port: 5500
Note: The relays use “localhost” or the Central Relay address and the local port 1999 for application data communication.

- Create a group in Active Directory named “Auto ADW SRC” as a Security group type (no specific permissions required).
- Add the user or service account to this group to authorize remote LAN distributions.
Netscan
The Netscan plugin can be installed only on the Desktop Agent. Its function is to scan the network and identify which computers do not have the Desktop Agent or Server Agent installed, listing them in CIQ ITAM as devices without the agent installed. It is not possible to collect any data other than the device name.
Release Type: Optional
Protocols
- SNMP, NBTSTAT, PING and SMB
- Allows you to define the interval at which the scan occurs (default: every 6 hours), or set it to run daily or weekly (once a week).
